Derek Jeter is both the Yankees' and Jorge Posada's best man
Yes, it's true -- 2014 will be Derek Jeter's last season as a professional baseball player.
If you see a Yankee fan walking down the street, give them a hug: last year, they said goodbye to Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera, and now The Captain will join those two greats off in the sunset at year's end.
We'll have plenty of opportunities this season to look back at the incredible career Jeter's had, but for now, let's look to Jeter's friends Jorge and Laura Posada for a comforting image to get us through this announcement:
You have always been the best man in our book on and off the field. Proud of you! #FarewellCaptain #Yankees #legend pic.twitter.com/va9HUXlRHZ

Yup -- that's an adorable baby-faced Derek Jeter serving as best man for his longtime catcher. He was about 25 when that photo was taken (the Posadas were married in 2000).
Not that he's aged much since then:
Whoops! Wrong GIF!
There we go. Even at age 39, the Captain knows how to play ball. Here's to a great 2014 for Jeter!
