Throwback Photo of the Day: Jack Clements uses the Force to magically levitate a baseball

Throwback photo: Infielder seems to levitate baseball

Canonically speaking, the Force is the energy created by all life forms, perceptible only to Jedi and Sith. (Well, excluding Force Priestesses and whatever the heck these things are, but that's an Expanded Universe rabbit hole from which no light can ever escape.)

To the best of our knowledge, the Philadelphia Quakers were not a Jedi baseball team -- they belonged to the American Association in the late 19th century, and seem to have been comprised solely of regular human beings. Except catcher Jack Clements, apparently, because if the above photo is any indication, he can control objects with his mind.

Clements spent 14 of his 17-year career in Philly, slashing .287/.348/.421. Which, if we're being honest, isn't that impressive -- he could probably have gone to bat blindfolded, after all.
