Jerry Springer throws out first pitch at the Trop
You're probably used to hearing the sounds of "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" emanating from a gathered crowd. But on Friday, the chant wasn't coming from a studio audience -- it was coming from Rays fans.
That's right -- Jerry Springer took to the mound to deliver the ceremonial first pitch before Friday's Rays-Yankees game in St. Petersburg.
The former mayor of Cincinnati got some coaching before the game from Rays Manager Joe Maddon and took a few cuts with James Loney's bat during batting practice.
As for the toss, Springer's pitch was a brushback and Rays mascot Raymond didn't look too thrilled with it:
