Joe Maddon filled the Rays dugout with the soothing smells of '70s cologne
With the Rays in the midst of their Woodstock road trip, manager Joe Maddon decided to inject some realism with a time period-appropriate selection of colognes and and aftershaves. After all, isn't smell the number one trigger for memory?
Aroma still matters. Hope there's a bad scent of old colognes mixing in dugout tonight. Let's stir up some nostalgia pic.twitter.com/TgXnZkFe2S- Joe Maddon (@RaysJoeMaddon) May 14, 2014
Of course, this move could horribly backfire on Maddon. Should the team win tonight, it may establish a dangerous precedent where Evan Longoria can't even leave the house without applying a thick and pungent musk.
Between this and the miniature toilet, there are going to be all kinds of odors in that dugout.
