Chris Martin visited the appliance store that helped him restart his big league dreams
Chris Martin visited his old appliance store

When we last checked in with retail-to-riches pitcher Chris Martin, he had just been traded to the Rockies and was competing for a spot in their bullpen. First drafted in 2004, Martin finally made his Major League debut on April 26 with a scoreless inning against the Dodgers.
You'll recall that a shoulder injury seemingly put an end to Martin's baseball career in college, leading him to work in stock and inventory at Texas Appliance. While Major Leaguers get rehab assignments and physical therapy when they sustain an injury, Martin got his strength back by lifting refrigerators and playing catch in the warehouse. Now, he's a Major Leaguer himself.
But when the Rockies played the Rangers this week, Martin made sure to pay a visit to his old job/rehab facility:

He caught up on the state of the business:

And even contributed a little art:

And then, to showcase the therapeutic benefits of manual labor, he pitched a total of four scoreless innings in the series against the Rangers.
