Pigeon causes delay during Tigers-Athletics game
The Tigers and Athletics had barely gotten underway in Detroit on Monday when one of Mother Nature's more irritating creatures crept onto the diamond to cause a little disruption in the action. A pigeon planted itself between the pitcher's mound and the plate, so long that Tigers hurler Anibal Sanchez was asked to wait for it to leave.
Eventually, A's backstop John Jaso (who happened to be on-deck) had to trot out onto the field to shoo the thing away.
