You, too, can wear the Tarp Monster -- Pirates make 'I Survived the Tarp Monster' T-Shirts

The Pirates are a team known for their close-knit togetherness. In the '70s they united the team and the town under Sister Sledge's "We Are Family." (Surprisingly, the team didn't unite under "He's the Greatest Dancer." Surely Manny Sanguillen could bust a move on the dance floor.)
When the team took on the Reds in the 2013 Wild Card Game, they had a "blackout" with the fans becoming a 10th member of the team.
And when Pirates groundskeeper Matt Gerhardt was swallowed up by the terrifying Tarp Monster on Tuesday, Andrew McCutchen and Sean Rodriguez were there to help extricate their comrade from the belly of the beast.

Of course, the Pirates also have a rich history of great T-shirts, ever since Dave "The Cobra" Parker announced to the world that any noise you may have heard was simply the boys boppin'.
In honor of those rich traditions, the Pirates started selling "I Survived the Tarp Monster" tee-shirts on Friday night. And who better to first model them than the man who actually survived the great beast -- Gerhardt himself:

- Pittsburgh Pirates (@Pirates) July 10, 2015The team ordered 400 of the limited edition shirts and, according to a store employee, will sell them "until they are all gone." They're currently available from the PNC Park clubhouse store and the MLB.com Shop.
