Prepare to salivate at the sight of Josh Outman's stirrup socks

Prepare to salivate at the sight of Outman's stirrups

Is there a more beauteous sight than a pair of stirrup socks pulled high to the knee? A flash of the creamy white sanitary sock shining through the horseshoe of color? When I get married, my plan is to be wearing stirrup socks ... and only stirrup socks.

One person who may agree with me is new Yankees acquisition Josh Outman. Already renowned for having one of the greatest names ever for a pitcher, Outman has long been a supporter of the 1970's-esque look.

He did it in Oakland, the interplay of gold and green harkening back to Rickey Henderson:

In Colorado, Outman's black stirrups complemented the purple hues of the Rocky Mountains:

In Cleveland, Outman's blues were classy enough for any formal event -- even those with catered buffets.

Now with the Yankees, Outman has continued battling for stirrup awareness. Like a fine Malbec with grilled pork or boxed wine with macaroni & cheese, the thin navy stripe going down Outman's calf is a perfect pairing for the navy-and-white stirrups.

I swear, if Outman doesn't show up on Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List next year, I'm going to file a formal complaint.
