Get ready for the Yasiel Puig: The Movie, produced by Brett Ratner
Brett Ratner is probably best known for directing X-Men: The Last Stand and the Rush Hour series, but this project won't be an action film about a super-team of baseball playing mutants or buddy cop comedy starring Puig and Hyun-Jin Ryu.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ratner and his production company picked up the rights to Jesse Katz's article "Escape from Cuba: Yasiel Puig's Untold Journey to the Dodgers," which appeared in the May issue of Los Angeles Magazine. The article tells the story of Puig's many attempts to escape Cuba and certainly doesn's lack for drama.
Note that the story does contain a passage in which Puig cracks up at the Three Stooges and is taught to drive by his Arizona Rookie League mentor, Tim Bravo. So perhaps there is some hope for that buddy cop movie after all.
Any ideas for who Ratner should cast to play Puig?
