Rays-istance is futile on Tampa Bay's Star Trek Night

To promote Star Trek Into Darkness (which comes out May 16th), the Rays held a Star Trek Night on Friday, and the scene at Tropicana Field was all I was hoping for and more.

First, the team gave away a T-shirt recreating the movie's poster, but with Evan Longoria in place of villain John Harrison. This model helped out by throwing up the Vulcan salute with both hands:

Ambassadors from the 23rd and 24th centuries at the game included two human Starfleet officers from the Original Series era, an Andorian Starfleet officer from the Deep Space Nine/Voyager era, a Borg, and two post-Original Series Klingons (one of which seems to be a fan of metalcore band Death Before Dishonor, which is actually pretty appropriate):

An Original Series (i.e., without forehead ridges) Klingon had the honor of banging the Rays' pregame gong:

And Rays mascot Raymond, dressed in some sci-fi garb of his own, joined the Borg on the field. He was keeping his phaser close at hand in case the Borg tried to add Raymond's biological and technological distinctiveness to his own, as Borg are wont to do:
