The Rays are planning how to protect their phones from David Ortiz
If you saw the above play from Saturday, you know that when David Ortiz sees a strike call he really doesn't like, he gets really angry. And when he gets really angry, dugout phones are reduced to rubble courtesy of his bat:
The Orioles and Oriole Park were woefully unprepared for this sort of event. But the Rays are determined not to make the same mistake. Their official Twitter account tweeted the following on Sunday morning:
WANTED: Steel alloy telephone with Kevlar cord. Will spare no expense. Must install by Sept. 10.

There's still more than a month before Big Papi comes to St. Petersburg, but you can never be too careful.
For the Orioles' part, they need not worry. NESN's Jenny Dell tweeted on Sunday that Ortiz's teammates Ryan Dempster and Jonny Gomes have already fashioned a DIY replacement:
Dempster & Gomes "repair" the dugout telephone. "Can you hear me ok?" #Silly pic.twitter.com/a2JCpezHEu
