Rays think pink on Mother's Day

As has been the recent tradition to celebrate Mother's Day and support breast cancer research, Major League Baseball teams wore a variety of pink-colored items on Sunday including batting gloves, wristbands, necklaces, armbands and cleats. And for the eighth year in a row, many players will use pink Louisville Slugger bats. Players from the Rays and Padres did so as they faced off in their series finale at Tropicana Field.
This year over 200 MLB players have ordered the pink Louisville Slugger bats to swing on Mother's Day. And as they did in 2012, players will use hot pink bats as opposed to the softer pink color used from 2006-11.
