Little League World Series coach gives an inspirational postgame speech for the ages
Little League coach gives touching postgame speech

Every great sports movie has a moment that's built for inspiration. It's when we find out that life is a just a game of inches and so is football, that being perfect is doing everything you could, that the hard is what makes it great. But speeches like that rarely happen in real life. Most coaches don't have screenwriters and a sweeping film score behind them.
But Dave Belisle didn't need any of that on Monday night. After his team, Rhode Island's Cumberland Americans, fell in an 8-7 loss to Chicago's Jackie Robinson West in a Little League World Series elimination game, he gathered his dejected players and told them to hold their heads up high. Then the coach gave a speech that not even Al Pacino could duplicate:
Yeah, I know, I have something in my eye too.
Here's the full transcript of the speech, via the Providence Journal.
