Ryan Howard listens to Nickelback: an investigative report

Ryan Howard likes Nickelback?

06/17/14 - 7:05 EST - A Braves fan in the stands at Turner Field holds up a sign accusing Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard of enjoying the musical stylings of Canadian alternative rock band Nickelback.

06/17/14 - Some time after 7:05 EST - A second accuser comes forward in the form of the Braves organist, who plays Nickelback songs as Howard approaches home plate for his late-inning at-bats, replacing his usual choice of the theme music from The Office (there's a character named Ryan Howard).

Office

06/17/14 - Just before midnight - Howard first learns of the accusations lobbied against him. Strangely, he does not deny enjoying Nickelback, opting to pretend that he isn't aware that some consider it uncouth to enjoy Nickelback.

MLB.com's Todd Zolecki handled the interrogation. When Zolecki said that the sign "probably wasn't meant as a compliment," Howard responded

"I mean, I'm not afraid to say that I diversify my musical portfolio," he said. "I didn't know they could see or hear what … how do they know I listen to Nickelback? I listen to everything. I don't know if there's a specific song by Nickelback (I listen to)."

If you're concerned that you or your loved ones are fans of Nickelback, please be sure to consult the handy extension that tells you which of your Facebook friends like the band. Remember, friends don't let friends listen to Nickelback.
