Ryan Raburn makes great running catch, learns firsthand the perils of traffic safety

Raburn makes running catch, runs smack into stop sign

Driver's ed. teachers of America: Tired of seeing your many sage lessons about the importance of road safety fall on the disinterested ears of distracted high schoolers? Sick of competing for attention with whatever newfangled contraption the young'uns are into nowadays? Looking for a way to truly reach the nation's youth, ensuring a safer future for us all?

The Texas Rangers understand, and they're here to help: Behold, the world's least forgiving stop sign, loosed upon poor Ryan Raburn during Friday's game against the Indians:

Raburn catch

Totally unfit for a classroom and most likely illegal? Possibly. The most efficient means of communicating that stop means stop? Just ask the flattened outfielder. (As much as we pity your plight, Ryan, we do feel compelled to point out that the wall gave you fair warning. Which, considering it's an inanimate object, is actually pretty considerate of it.)

According to MLB.com's Christian Corona, Raburn, for his part, remains undeterred: "Everyone was telling me it said 'STOP' but I don't know if that's in my vocabulary."

And now, given that he hung on for a pretty remarkable catch and thankfully avoided significant injury -- according to MLB.com's Sam Lindauer, Raburn came away with just a knee contusion, and will miss a couple days at most -- we feel comfortable delivering the punchline to save you the trouble: Boy, that's what you call getting the stop sign, amiright?
