Seattle fan reminds us of Bobby V's Japan days, and the cookie endorsements therein

Bobby Valentine is in his 23rd year of managing professional baseball, but only 16 of those have been in the United States. The BoSox skipper led the Chiba Lotte Marines of Japan's Pacific League in 1995 and again from 2004-2009.

Like most teams in Nippon Professional Baseball (Japan's equivalent to MLB), the Marines' full team name includes both a geographic term and a sponsor one -- Chiba is the coastal city they play in, and Lotte is a Korean conglomerate that focuses primarily on food manufacturing.

As this fan at Safeco Field on Wednesday showed, Valentine did some cookie endorsing work for the parent company during his Marines days. I can't vouch for how they taste -- but I can tell you their packaging was pretty subdued compared to some of Bobby V's other Japanese food endorsements.
