Seth Meyers: 'If Jerry Seinfeld and I had a baby,' it'd look like Pirates rookie John Holdzkom

Seth Meyers says his baseball twin is on the Pirates

The worlds of baseball and late night television collided when Seth Meyers and Pirates pitcher John Holdzkom were separated at birth. Or, more accurately, when Seth Meyers acknowledged his baseball lookalike during Thursday's episode of Late Night.

Holdzkom is listed as 6-foot-7 (though he claims he's an even 6-foot-9) and played high school ball in California, but has some Kiwi in him (he pitched for New Zealand in the World Baseball Classic).

The right-hander was called up to the bigs for the first time this week after a road to the bigs that included stops at basically every Minor League level and stints in independent baseball and the Australian Baseball League.

He made his Major League debut Tuesday, striking out Peter Bourjos, Kolten Wong and Matt Carpenter in order. By Thursday, Meyers had caught wind of the fact that he had a lost twin pitching for the Pirates.

Not a bad week for a young man who probably didn't expect to get a shot in the show (or on the Late Night show) at all this season.
