Stephen Colbert cheered on the Cubs by kicking a real, live goat out of the 'Late Show' studio

Colbert takes on the Billy Goat Curse on 'Late Show'

These are exciting times for Cubs fans. Not only did the team win 97 games for the first time since 2008, but they'll be facing off against the Cardinals in Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday thanks to the efforts of ace/destroyer of baseballs Jake Arrieta. Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber are younger than some college students.. Things are looking up.

But for one famous Cubs fan, that's not quite enough. So, during Thursday night's "Late Show," former Chicagoan Stephen Colbert went one step further to ensure his team's success in the postseason: In order to finally rid the Windy City of the Curse of the Billy Goat, he kicked an actual goat out of the studio:

The curse safely defeated, Colbert was even confident enough to print out his very own goat-themed "Cubs World Champions" t-shirt -- the perfect gift for the fan who already has Jake Arrieta shaved into his head.
