Stony Brook baseball recognized at Citi Field
Two days after they were eliminated by Florida State in the College World Series, the Stony Brook University Seawolves were honored at Citi Field on Tuesday night.
The Cinderella squad, which plays its home games just 55 miles from the Mets' ballpark, mingled with Major Leaguers on the field during batting practice. Head coach Matt Senk later threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The team was the first in program history to reach Omaha and the first from the Northeast to accomplish the feat since 1986.
