Masahiro Tanaka chartered a giant plane for himself and his poodle

Masahiro Tanaka has a pre-Spring Training press conference in NYC on Tuesday, and the newest Yankee arrived in style. To ensure he reached the East Coast on time (and in the "best of form"), Tanaka chartered a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Japan this past weekend. The pitcher traveled with five others and his pet poodle on the 200-seater. Here are some more details from SBS.com:

The ace pitcher, who has just signed a seven-year MLB deal worth $US155 million ($A173.6 million) with the New York Yankees, is believed to have splashed out $US195,000 ($A218,000) of his own money on the one-way flight.
"It's a (chartered) private jet. It's not something the Yankees have prepared," he told reporters at Narita Airport near Tokyo on Sunday.
