TBT: John Lennon hanging out in the Busch Stadium clubhouse

Photo: John Lennon hanging out at Busch Stadium

Back on Aug. 21, 1966, the Beatles were gearing up to play one of their last live shows. The location was St. Louis and the venue was the Cardinals' old Busch Stadium. So, what do you do before performing in front of 23,000 screaming fans? If you're John Lennon, you chill. Just straight-up chill.

After he was sufficiently chilled, Lennon joined his bandmates for a rain-soaked performance. Here's the 11-song set list below:

"Rock and Roll Music" (Chuck Berry cover)
"She's a Woman"
"If I Needed Someone"
"Day Tripper"
"Baby's in Black"
"I Feel Fine"
"I Wanna Be Your Man"
"Nowhere Man"
"Paperback Writer"
"Long Tall Sally" (Little Richard cover)

The concert took place at the end of an 83-79 season for the sixth-place Cardinals, but was also just a year before their 1967 championship run. Did Lennon's clubhouse presence carry over to the next year -- sending St. Louis to the World Series? Whose locker was he sitting in anyway?
