New York is excited for today's Pinstripe Bowl
It's hard to be a baseball fan during the winter. There comes a point when you can no longer watch your 1979 World Series box set on repeat and baseball video games just can't cut it anymore. Fortunately, this afternoon, there will be some action at Yankee Stadium.
Sure, it's a college football bowl game between Boston College and Penn State instead of a baseball game, but by virtue of being played at Yankee Stadium, you can pretend it's baseball. Touchdowns become super grand slams worth seven runs, interceptions become home run-robbing catches, and power running plays become sacrifice bunts.
On Friday, the city of New York got all excited. The two teams rang the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, with the Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P all finishing up (a coincidence?):

And then in the evening, the Empire State Building was lit up in Boston College's gold and maroon and Penn State's blue and white.

The two teams go at it, playing their hybrid version of college footbaseball this afternoon at 4:30 ET.
