Michael Jordan and the '90s Bulls inspired the Mets' latest dugout celebration
As the hits keep coming, so will the white towels
If you've watched the Mets during the past few weeks, you may have noticed players in the dugout waving white towels after big hits. While this celebration is nothing new to the baseball world, New York's adoption can be attributed to a former NBA championship team.
"Probably the inspiration came from just watching the Bulls back in the '90s, when they were on their first three-peat," Curtis Granderson said.
Granderson mentioned that the Bulls bench would wave towels to get the players and crowd into the game.
And thanks to Zack Wheeler, the Mets have added a new element to the white-towel waving game -- the car wash. Whenever a player hits a home run, he has to run through a line of towels.

The team has their first four-game winning streak in more than a year after beating the Braves on Wednesday night, so maybe there's something to it?
