The Phanatic spent a day with Dr. Dog , so what other mascots should jam with indie bands?

Phanatic earns indie cred while jamming with Dr. Dog

Having spent the Phillies' regular season dominating the world of dance, the Phanatic is now moving on to conquer other pursuits. First up: indie rock.

And what better way to cement his indie cred than to hang in the studio with homegrown rock band Dr. Dog?

Rumor has it that the Phanatic can really shred.

And this all but confirms that Dr. Dog's "Phenomenon" is actually about the Phanatic:

"You're everywhere at once, like a true phenomenon"

But while the Phanatic is the reigning king of MLB's indie rock scene, we think a few of his mascot colleagues could spend the offseason boosting their own cred. And so we put together some suggestions for possible collaborations, because we're all about bringing people together.

The Phanatic's connection with Dr. Dog is geographical, but we think these matches are perfect regardless of location:

Sluggerrr & King Tuff

The Royals mascot is a lion who wears a crown. Lions are tough, and usually a crown means you're the king of something, ergo … King Tuff.

Mr. Met & Metz

Mr. Met may be 50 years old, but don't think he can't jam right alongside the best of 'em.

Dinger & Dinosaur Jr.

The Rockies mascot is literally a young dinosaur, so.

Raymond & Animal Collective

Raymond is technically a "Canus Manta Whatthefluffalus" aka Seadog. Personally, we've never seen any animal quite like Ray, but he belongs in the collective all the same.

Paws & Paws

This one is kind of self-explanatory. The Tigers mascot and Scottish trio have to team up, don't they?

Screech & Eagulls

Sure, Eagulls are technically a British band, but like Paws, it's all there in the name. We think the Nationals' eagle would fit in just splendidly.
