When the Padres recently rolled into Philadelphia for a three-game stint with the Phillies, San Diego manager Bud Black decided to weigh in on one of baseball's timeless arguments: who has the best mascot in sports?
Black went the homer route, trumpeting the accomplishments of the San Diego Chicken over the antics of the Phillie Phanatic. Then, the Padres broadcast team did their part by passing the sentiment along to the Phanatic himself.
We figured Black's testimony was an excuse to stop arguing about whether or not it's OK to bring your glove to the game (it's not) long enough to yell at each other about who has the best mascot in baseball.
