This ump's every-inning tradition: Spitting his gum onto the outfield grass
We all have our vices, and evidence of third-base umpire Jordan Baker's was spotted at Busch Stadium on Tuesday night -- wads of chewed gum littered shallow left field.
Throwing his gum onto the grass is a "tradition" that Baker observes every half-inning. I appreciate an irrational, superstitious ritual as much as anyone, but this is kind of gnarly. Let's take a closer look:
