Watch Tom Brice hit a HR into Hawaiian shirt fans
Thought you wouldn't get to see another walk-off home run until next year? Figured that instead of watching dingers blasted into the night sky, you'd be forced to watch re-runs of "The Facts of Life" or whatever it is that you do to fill the cruel baseball-less hours?
Don't worry -- the Australian Baseball League has you covered.
With the game tied at zero between the Perth Heat and the Adelaide Bite in the bottom of the ninth on Friday night, DH Tom Brice sent the Bite fans home happy with a home run over the right field wall and into a cluster of fans wearing Hawaiian shirts. Either that or it was a "Weekend at Bernie's 2" convention:
Best of all, after the game the 34-year-old who had been playing first base, said, "I don't mind playing the field but I'm old and lazy and like to just worry about the hitting."
Which he seems to be pretty good at it. Brice, who has played in the White Sox system as well as for DOOR Neptunus in the Dutch Leagues, hit the second of three straight home runs that helped the Bite win Game 1 of last year's Championship Series.
Time to start calling him Tom Brice Harper.
