Tonight, we dine in Queens: Citi Field's first-ever Spartan Race
When the Mets are away, thousands will play ... but not baseball. With the Amazin's off to face the Twins in Minneapolis, Citi Field hosted its first-ever Spartan Race on Saturday.
The unique endurance event transformed the ballpark into an enormous obstacle course. With diverse challenges awaiting them on every level of the stadium, athletes needed to be in tip-top shape in order to complete the race. Sprints through the concourses, push-ups in the locker room and a jungle rope climb on the warning track were only three of the staggering tasks that faced the Spartan competitors.
