Trayce Thompson hits first homer, celebrates with invisible friends (but would like some real friends)

Thompson hits first HR, high-fives invisible friends

Trayce Thompson, brother of NBA champion Klay, is a prospect in the White Sox system and was just called up to the big club last week. Being a youngster in the clubhouse is tough -- particularly when you do something special. Nobody really knows who you are and you have to celebrate with your imaginary friends.

Well, during Tuesday's Angels-White Sox game, Thompson hit his first career home run. And, just as we expected, nobody wanted to talk to him. Thompson began high-fiving his invisible friends, but then, perhaps tired of his friends being invisible and craving the warmth of human touch, he grabbed at Alexei Ramirez's jersey near the end of the dugout. His teammates finally recognized the utter distress they were causing the 24-year-old and gave him the celebration he deserved.

Awww, that's so sweet.
