Tweet away -- you just might get to throw out the first pitch
The Mets -- or should I say @Mets -- held their annual Social Media Night at Citi Field on Wednesday. In addition to getting a field level ticket and a special T-shirt, those who participated had a chance to win some awesome prizes. Signed balls, bats and jerseys were given away, but the grand prize was to throw out the game's ceremonial first pitch.
Enter Amira Hurst. Originally from Jamaica, Queens and now residing in Ramsey, NJ, Hurst was the grand prize winner. Although she hadn't played any ball in a while, Amira was fairly confident that she'd be fine throwing from the mound.
"As long as I don't get Matt Harvey upset with me by stepping on it before the game, yes I'm stepping on the mound," she said.
Behold the magic of Social Media Night.
