Now that Bernie Williams is retired from baseball, he's going pro-jazz musician

Retired Bernie Williams plans to become rock star

On Friday, Bernie Williams officially retired from baseball despite making his last appearance with the Yankees in 2006.

Wait, he just retired?  Does that mean that at any point over the last nine years, he could have come off the bench and done this?

Now that the papers are finally signed, Williams said, "after this thing about being a professional baseball player with the Yankees, I decided to be a rock star."

He's got one year left in his pursuit of a jazz performance degree at the Manhattan School of Music and he's already been nominated for a Latin Grammy. So, yes, Bernie Williams has basically been Duke Silver this whole time:
