'The Windy City' earned its nickname during Saturday's White Sox-Indians game

One legend says the city of Chicago earned its nickname of "The Windy City" due to abnormally strong and persistent winds off nearby Lake Michigan. The veracity of that claim, famously, is dubious.

However, it's easy to believe such a story when you see things like Saturday's crazy, wind-filled game between the White Sox and Indians at US Cellular Field.

In the video up top, you can see Chi-town center fielder Adam Eaton trying to field a fly ball off the bat of Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis. Unfortunately, the wind decided that ball would rather just land on the grass in shallow left:

But wind didn't just affect things on the field of play -- an unexpected gust stole a scorecard belonging to Indians play-by-play man Matt Underwood and launched it into the seats below:

While the wind seemed to cause havoc all throughout the stadium, one fan happened to prosper from it -- he earned himself a free souvenir:
