We've debated the merits of adults bringing gloves to the ballgame endlessly on this website, but there's a new fan catch accessory that's sweeping the MLB nation:
Toddlers.
Two weeks ago, we saw a dad in Cincinnati make an excellent catch with one arm while holding his child in the other:
Then, this father in Atlanta made an equally amazing play, child in hand:
And now, we have our newest entrant to the dad-and-child fan catch club -- this fan from Saturday's Twins-Tigers game:
Tigers reporter Lindsey Hayes was able to track down the newest Gold Glove dad, and asked him what was going through his mind when he made the play:
"It happened a lot faster than I could have imagined. I don't think -- I moved and looked up, I didn't even have a moment to think. I just put my hand up."
But was he thinking about protecting his daughter?
"I probably should have been. I'm gonna be sleeping on the couch tonight."
