Dawson Batts, born without a left arm, pitches in the National Youth Baseball Championship All-Star Game

One-armed Dawson Batts pitches in NYBC All-Star Game

Dawson Batts is 1) a baseball name for the ages and 2) an incredibly inspiring twelve-year-old ballplayer from Fayetteville, N.C. Batts was born without a left arm, but that hasn't stopped him from playing the game he loves.

This year, Batts was selected to play for the East's regional team in the National Youth Baseball Championship's All-Star Game. According to MLB.com, Batts is "a swinging lefty with power," who has "become the best player on his tournament team."

His favorite player is Dustin Pedroia, and he dreams of playing for the Red Sox one day. As he told wralSportsfan.com last year, "I can do more with one arm than anyone else can do with two."
