Evan Longoria tries to destroy catwalk, becomes Rays all-time home run leader
Evan Longoria took a shot at Tropicana Field's catwalk Saturday night, blasting a towering home run through the structure. Unfortunately for Longoria, but fortunately for everyone else, the Trop's engineers were prepared for a player of the third baseman's strength when they built the stadium.
Longoria's 164th career home run wasn't merely something nice to look at. It pushed him past Carlos Pena and into sole possession of first place on the Rays' career long ball list.
