This fan brought his glove to the game -- and still flubbed a foul ball catch

As the debate over adults bringing gloves to the ballgame rages on, we now have new evidence that might tip the scales toward one particular side.

The argument in favor of bringing a glove is based around the notion that it is easier to catch a foul ball when one has a glove on one's hand. This is the very purpose of a baseball glove, the logic goes.

Yet, is it not possible that a glove, like a graphing calculator or a stick-shift, is useless without proper training? That, unless you are already good at catching a baseball, a glove will not aid in the practice?

This Giants fan's blown catch of a foul ball seems to indicate just that -- that it is not in the glove's nature to automatically ensure a snare, but it is up to the wearer to have the ability all along.
