Watch Clayton Kershaw celebrate his first career no-hitter
Watch Clayton Kershaw complete his first no-hitter
On Wednesday night, two-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw pitched his first career no-hitter. The lefty's dominant outing was the second no-no of the year and the 22nd in Dodgers history.
Pretty fitting, right?
Kershaw completed the game with a career-high 15 strikeouts -- a number topped only by Nolan Ryan, who managed to surpass the mark in two of his seven career no-hitters.
That 15th strikeout came when Kershaw fanned Corey Dickerson for the final out of the game:
Kershaw's wife Ellen was excited:
As was her husband's team:
There were shouts of joy:
Gatorade showers and bubble bonanzas:
And quiet, sweet moments of happiness:
But don't think that things got too calm. The celebrations continued well off of the field and into the locker room:

After the game, Ellen Kershaw still hadn't relaxed, saying it felt like she and her no-hitter-throwing husband were "living in this dream."
The last time the Dodgers had two no-hitters in one season was in 1956, when Carl Erskine and Sal Maglie wrote their names into the history books while the team was still in Brooklyn.
The first no-hitter of 2014 belonged to Kershaw's teammate Josh Beckett. Perhaps this year the team will stick to its current rate of one no-no per month -- that leaves July, August and September for Greinke, Ryu and Haren each to make their bid for history.
