Jason Castro bobblehead sparks eighth-inning rally for the Astros
Jason Castro bobbleheads were in high demand with the Astros taking on the Athletics on Saturday night at Minute Maid Park -- but fellow Houston catcher Carlos Corporan was determined to get one no matter what.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, with the teams tied at three runs a piece, Corporan somehow managed to swipe CSN reporter Julia Morales' bobblehead and give it a home in the dugout.
Unbeknownst to either Corporan or Morales, that would prove to be a fateful decision.
Immediately following mini-Castro's arrival in the Astros' dugout, Houston caught fire. Marwin Gonzalez and Jose Altuve both singled to start the inning, and Corporan informed Morales that her lucky bobblehead would be staying with the team for a while.
By the end of the inning, the Astros had increased the margin to 7-3, with Castro himself driving in one of the runs. The bobblehead was pretty stoked:
The Astros held on to win 7-6, and Corporan made sure Morales got her own Castro bobblehead after the game. But, the lucky one that spurred the eighth-inning rally looks like it'll be a clubhouse fixture for many more games to come.
