Matt Carpenter deserves a gold medal for this incredible acrobatic slide

Dear International Olympic Committee, 

Though the Summer Olympics aren't until next year, we would like to see that Matt Carpenter is awarded an early gold medal in gymnastics for this slide into home from Friday's Reds-Cardinals game:

Watch it. Then watch it again. Sure, Carpenter was awarded with a run and St. Louis eventually triumphed, 6-1, but this slide is so magnificent that it should really result in greater international unity and super heavy trophies that double as jewelry. Just watch it one more time:

Come on, IOC. Just spare him one gold medal. Please?
