Nick Markakis hit a walk-off single and the Oriole Bird got pied in the face

Immediately following his walk-off single to beat the Royals in extras, Orioles first baseman Nick Markakis spoke with the MASN broadcast team for a customary post-game interview. And, in keeping with walk-off tradition, teammate J.J. Hardy ran up to the interview with a pie.

That pie, however, was not the ceremonial shaving cream analogue Major Leaguers usually employ. It was an honest-to-goodness baked good.

Thankfully, Markakis didn't take the pie to the face, but instead got to sample its delicious flavors:
