Here's Pablo Sandoval taking one of the latest swings you'll ever see
Pablo Sandoval swung at a pitch in the catcher's mitt
The Kung Fu Panda was ever so slightly behind this fastball from Pirates pitcher Charlie Morton on Tuesday, taking a massive hack after the ball was already in the catcher's mitt:
It was like there was a hiccup in the space-time continuum and Sandoval was a few seconds behind everyone else. Either that, or he was trying out a Goofy impression from Disney's How to Play Baseball:
Of course, Brandon Belt was stealing second base on the play, so Sandoval may also have been trying to disrupt Tony Sanchez's throw. Perhaps it worked, too, as the toss sailed high into center field and Belt to raced to third. Belt would eventually score the Giants' only run on a sacrifice fly, which makes Sandoval's swing less hilarious and more of a brilliant tactical gambit that could soon sweep through Major League Baseball.
