Brendan Ryan sees through time, hits ball twice with one swing
Brendan Ryan hits ball twice with one swing
There are a lot of weird things you'll see hitters do. Like swinging at pitches in the dirt and getting base hits (the Vlad Guerrero special). Or letting go of their bats during home runs. Or even literally knocking the cover off the baseball.
On Thursday afternoon, Brendan Ryan joined Club Weird Hit while possibly revealing his own space-time powers. He hit the ball twice on one swing:
See how the ball hit near the handle of the bat, almost perfectly placing it onto the barrel for Ryan to knock through infield? Sure, that could be luck. Or it could be proof that Brendan Ryan has some advanced Click-type technology (Or Clockstoppers. Whichever you'd prefer) and thought he could get away with it. We can only hope that his experiments with space-time haven't completely altered our universe, hurtling us towards a dark and dystopian future.
You may remember that Troy Tulowitzki pulled off this particular feat in 2011:
And Hunter Pence managed to hit the ball an astounding three times on one swing during the 2012 World Series.
But we already knew that Pence isn't quite human anyway.
