Andrew McCutchen wore gold-plated No. 42 cleats for Jackie Robinson Day

Every Major Leaguer wore No. 42 in Jackie Robinson's honor Tuesday, and a select few chose to also wear special cleats as a tribute to the Dodgers legend.

The Pirates' Andrew McCutchen donned a pair of yellow cleats with golden bottoms and an emblazoned  No. 42. Four other players -- Jay Bruce, Jason Heyward, Adam Jones, and Torii Hunter -- also wore similar spikes.

Curtis Granderson had custom cleats created with "Thank you, Jackie" written on the back:

Jackie Robinson Day isn't just about the number on your back or the shoes on your feet. It's about honoring the man who not only changed the shape of baseball, but changed the course of American history. And that's never more apparent than when talking to fans who, 67 years after his debut, still come out to the park to celebrate Robinson's legacy.

Thank you, Jackie.
