Joba Chamberlain hits ex-teammate Derek Jeter with pitch, feels horrible, promptly apologizes
Joba hits Jeter, feels distraught and apologizes
Remember when Joba Chamberlain was a Yankee? He and retiring captain Derek Jeter had some wonderful times together -- like this rad double play in a game against the Indians:
And this strike-'em-out-throw-'em-out of then-Red Sox Sean Casey and Kevin Youkilis:
With Chamberlain now on the Tigers, the two faced off at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, and the right-hander kicked off the at-bat by sticking his tongue out at No. 2:
And then, well:
It clearly wasn't intentional -- Chamberlain looked emotionally distraught after plunking the future Hall of Famer:
And even apologized:
Don't worry: Jeter's perfectly okay, and the Tigers won the game 4-3.
