Mariners fans give raucous ovation to bolt of lightning and clap of thunder

If you're scared of thunder and lightning, you might want to take this moment to click away to something less intimidating. Here's a bunch of kangaroos for you to look at! Aww!

OK, now that it's just us weather geeks, check out this incredible bolt of lightning over Safeco Field during Monday's Blue Jays-Mariners game:

Robbie Cano, doncha know, ain't about to swing while Thor is making his presence known outside. He took a timeout and a moment to regroup. Smart guy.

The fans at Safeco, meanwhile, erupted into spontaneous and rapturous applause over the lightning and its accompanying thunder clap. In fact, if you listen closely, you can even hear the Seattle fans chanting, "USA! USA! USA!"

Perhaps what's most interesting about this particular ovation is that it is the first time (and possibly the last time) that the residents of Seattle will ever cheer for the Thunder.
