We don't want to say "we told you so," but, as you can see in the video above, during Wednesday's Game 1 of the Japan Series, Shohei Ohtani pitched a perfect inning.
So … we told you so.
The 20-year-old righty pitches for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of the Pacific League, and in 2014 he went 11-4 with a 2.61 ERA. He can also pitch faster than you're allowed to drive in any state in the Union:
But we're really looking forward to seeing him on the other side of the plate. In his age-19 season, he recorded a 274/.338/.505 line and hit more home runs than he gave up (10 and 7, respectively):
Not even Madison Bumgarner can say that.
