R.A. Dickey can apparently also throw his knuckleball sidearm
Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey throws a pitch that no other Major League pitcher throws with regularity: the knuckleball. This is how he usually throws it:
Not content with only one oddball pitch, the 2012 NL Cy Young Award winner tossed one of his knucklers sidearm during Tuesday's Yankees-Blue Jays game. Why? Well, why not.
Those batters who look so fooled, by-the-by, are Curtis Granderson and Alex Rodriguez - pretty decent hitters. But the batter almost doesn't matter when a guy throws a pitch that can go anywhere, and throws it with his arm moving at just about any angle.
