Randy Choate recorded two outs in a one-pitch appearance
Cardinals reliever Randy Choate entered the eighth inning of Saturday's matchup against the Braves with runners on first and second and only one out. In his head, he was likely planning how to attack the Atlanta lineup -- Freddie Freeman was due up next with Evan Gattis and Chris Johnson following.
But before Choate could really work through his gameplan, the inning was over. Freeman went right at the first pitch and grounded into a double play:
Trevor Rosenthal replaced the southpaw to start the ninth inning, and so that pitch was the only one Choate threw all day.
One pitch, two outs, hit the showers. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
