Let's say, in some "Mad Max"-esque future where our social institutions have survived but in a severely altered form, that baseball is played with swords. Not like outfielders are carrying around épées in case of a spontaneous duel or a fight with an irradiated desert rat; instead, bats have been replaced by pointy weapons.
OK, we haven't really thought this through and have no idea how the rest of the game would even be possible. But, if such a future does come to pass, we know who will be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer in baseball's neo-medieval era -- master swordsman Isao Machii. Here he is slicing a 100 mph fastball clean in half:
