Watch Paul Konerko say goodbye -- and thanks -- to White Sox fans in this touching video

Watch Paul Konerko say goodbye to White Sox fans

While all of baseball (read: the world) has spent the past year saying farewell to a certain Yankees shortstop, another player who spent nearly two decades with one team may have gone overlooked: Paul Konerko.

In a new video, Konerko, who has been with the White Sox since 1999 and will retire at the end of this season, thanks Chicago fans "for allowing me to make so many memories here" and promises that "they will always be with me."

Memories like his first home run with the White Sox …

… and the many, many more that followed …

… including the particularly special ones, like his grand slam in the 2005 World Series.

Konerko finished with 432 home runs, 1,383 RBIs and a .279/.354/.487 slash line with the White Sox -- including seven long balls in the postseason. Sox fans will surely miss his power at the plate and his humble attitude on and off the field.
